Question:

Is there a height difference between the Traveler combo FT48RV and the Solo Topper FT44EV on a 2025 Silverado 1500 6-1/2' bed?

Hey Maria, good question - and the answer is no, they sit at the same overall height on your 2025 Silverado 1500 (or Sierra 1500) with the 6-1/2' bed. The topper section of the Traveler # FT48RV uses the same bow design and fabric as the stand-alone # FT44EV, so both stay just below the cab roofline when open.

The difference is underneath - the Traveler includes the roll-up tonneau layer that seals the bed when the topper is folded down. But when you’re using the topper, that tonneau is rolled up and out of the way, so there’s no added height.

Would you rather have the tonneau flexibility built in, or start with the topper alone and add the # FT88NV cover later?

Thanks, Andrew. So just to make sure I understand - when the topper is up on the Traveler combo, it looks the same height as the stand-alone topper?

@Maria Exactly, Maria, you’ve got it. When the topper section is up, both the Traveler # FT48RV and Solo # FT44EV are identical in height and shape. The topper frames and bow arches are the same parts. The only real difference is that the Traveler gives you that integrated tonneau layer underneath for sealing the bed when the topper’s folded down. It’s the best option if you want one system that works for both hauling and camping. Are you leaning more toward full-time topper use or something you can fold down often?
