Question:

Between the Solo Topper FT44EV and the Traveler combo FT48RV, which fits better for a permanent camping setup on a 2025 Silverado 1500 6-1/2' bed?

For a dedicated camping build on your 2025 Silverado 1500 (or Sierra 1500) with 6-1/2' bed, I’d lean toward the Traveler # FT48RV, Hannah. It combines the roll-up tonneau and collapsible topper into one integrated system, so you can open either section independently and keep things tidy long-term.

The Solo # FT44EV is a great standalone topper if you’d rather start simple - it installs on its own without a tonneau cover. If you ever decide you want a bed cover down the road, you can just add the matching # FT88NV tonneau to your # FT44EV using the same side rails, no need to re-install hardware.

Planning to run a roof rack or awning? The JayBar # FT97MJ bolts right into both systems without any drilling.

Good to know! I do plan on camping out of it long-term. I’m curious, is there much difference in setup time between the two?

@Hannah setup time is almost identical. Both use the same quick-release frame design, so you’re looking at only a minute or so to fold open or pack down once you’ve done it a few times. The Traveler just adds the roll-up tonneau step, but it’s quick. You’ll appreciate how fast it transitions when weather changes mid-trip - that’s where it really shines.
