Hello Aaron,

Great question! Yes! The Camco RV Heated Drinking Water Hose for Cold Weather - 5/8" Internal Diameter - 50' Long # CAM22903 will work perfectly when plugged into a standard 120-volt outlet on a 20-amp breaker. The hose draws about 10 watts per foot, so for the 50-foot version that’s roughly 500 watts total, only about 4 amps at 120 volts. That’s well below what your 20-amp breaker can handle, so you’ll have plenty of capacity left for other small loads.

Just make sure the outlet you’re using is properly grounded and safe for outdoor or RV use, since these hoses are meant to protect your water line in freezing conditions (down to around -40°F). If you need to use an extension cord, go with a good heavy-duty outdoor cord to avoid voltage drop. Also, try not to coil the hose tightly while it’s plugged in, and check that the outer jacket and fittings are in good shape before use.

The longest option that we have is the 50 foot, what 75 foot option were you considering?

Hey Aaron, how did things go with the Camco heated drinking water hose on your 120-volt outlet? Did it keep your water line from freezing as expected? Your update could make it easier for others setting up their hoses in cold weather.
