Question:
I’ve had other brands rust out in one winter. How well does the ME43FR handle corrosion from salt?

Brenda, great question. The Meyer Walk Behind Spreader # ME43FR has a frame that is powder-coated steel, so it resists corrosion much better than bare metal, but it’s still wise to rinse it after every storm. The gearbox is fully enclosed to keep salt and brine off the gears. If you want maximum longevity, that’s where the stainless-steel # ME63FR shines (no pun intended); this one is basically the same and functions the same, aside from having heavier duty stainless steel frame and other parts.
Would you store it indoors or in an unheated garage? That’ll help us steer you toward the right finish.
