Replacing Old Atwood Furnace 120V AC Park Model With New Dometic 12V Modern Furnace

Updated 08/25/2025 | Published 08/22/2025

Question:

My old Atwood furnace ran on 120V AC in a park model. Do these Dometic 12V furnaces work in that setup?

Mark, great catch. These furnaces, such as Doorless # DMC74MR, White Door # DMC99MR, and Black Door # DMC64MR are strictly 12V DC for the electronics and blower, so you’d need to wire in a 12V supply. In a park model, that usually means adding a converter and 12V battery setup.

Are you open to wiring in a 12V system, or do you want to stay 120V only?

For others here with park models - did you convert to 12V furnaces, or stick with AC units?
