Replacement Spring Bars for a Reese Weight Distribution System

Question:
Hello, I currently have a Reese WD system with 800# Wt Dist system, 10,000# Max Gross trailer weight, 800# Max hitch weight, V-5 rating square style spring bars, purchased in 2008. I have upgraded to a trailer with a hitch weight of 720#. I think I need a heavier spring bar. Please advise. Thanks

As long as your total tongue weight does not exceed 800 lbs, you should not need heavier spring bars. Your total tongue weight will include the loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer plus the weight of any cargo that you load in your tow vehicle behind the rear axle.
If you find that your total tongue weight will exceed 800 lbs, then you will want to step up to the next size spring bar. The only available 1,200 pound replacement Spring bars from Reese are for the Strait-Line system part # RP66009. If you have the Reese SC system the spring bars are no longer available.
