Hey Dan! Yes, we’ve heard the horror stories, and we’ve seen the more entry level running boards rot out fast, including me in Missouri.
Romik uses powder-coated aluminum and stainless-steel hardware and brackets, so they’re designed to handle brine, salt, and freeze/thaw cycles. Rinse ‘em a few times over winter and they’ll stay solid. Way better longevity than painted steel bars. Romik does say to use a carnauba wax every so often to keep them looking fresh.
What vehicle do you have? I see you were looking at the Romik ROB-T Running Boards # RMK69DR which are for a 2019-2025 RAM 2500 and 3500 HD with the crew cab. If you have something else, just let me know and I'll help ya out!
