Running Boards That Are Wide And Non-Slip for 2019-2025 Ram 2500 Crew Cab

Updated 08/04/2025 | Published 07/29/2025

Question:

We use our Ram 2500 for family trips with our three young kids. Are these running board steps wide enough and grippy enough for little feet in wet weather?

Absolutely, Valerie. The Romik RB2-T models are 6 inches wide and have an anti-slip rubberized tread pattern across the top. They’re great for kids or anyone who needs solid footing in the rain. We’ve had a lot of families switch to these for exactly that reason, solid grip, no slip.

Are you wanting black # RMK66DR or silver # RMK46DR? I think black looks more OEM and blends in, but the silver does look nice if you already have some chrome trim on your truck. And fyi, these fit the Ram 2500/3500 crew cab 2019-2025 models.

Thanks, Andrew. Since we plan on keeping the truck a long time, do these boards hold up well over the years? I don’t want something that’s going to rattle or fade after a few winters.

@Valerie Great thinking, Valerie, and yes, the Romik RB2-T boards are definitely built for the long haul. They're made from rust-proof aluminum and use powder-coated steel brackets that resist corrosion, even with salt and slush during winter. The tread is molded into the surface, not just glued on, so it won’t peel or wear off with time. They also mount solidly to the frame using factory holes, so you won’t get flexing or rattling after a few seasons like you sometimes do with cheaper setups. A lot of folks who keep their trucks long-term (or pass them down to kids) love these because they stay solid and don’t start looking rough after a few years.
