Low Running Board Option For Easier Entry Height Of 2024 Ford F350 Crew Cab Lariat

Updated 08/04/2025 | Published 07/29/2025

Question:

How low do these actually sit? My wife struggles with the step-in height on our 24 F-350 Lariat crew cab. I need something that drops more than just an inch or two.

Greg, that’s a smart thing to look at, especially with the taller Super Duty trucks like your 2024 F350 Crew Cab.

The Romik boards generally drop 4-5inch from the pinch weld depending on cab and bracket style. A really neat feature about the Romik REC-TP Running Boards # RMK92WR is that they have adjustable drop brackets, allowing for 0-3 inches of additional drop depending on how you want it to sit. In the attached pic you can see a Ram truck with these running boards in the highest position (0" additional drop) and it still sits a few inches from the truck cab. So with yours in the lowest position (3" additional drop), you'd likely have a total of around 5" or 6" of drop. That should make it much easier for your wife to get in and out of your F350.

These boards are also 5-1/2" wide with a textured tread, so your wife should feel a lot more secure stepping in.
What do you think about this setup? Will it work for you?

That’s super helpful, Andrew—thanks! One more thing: Do these Romik boards interfere at all with front mud flaps or factory splash guards? I’d like to keep those on if possible.

@Greg Great question. In most cases, the Romik REC-TP boards clear factory splash guards and mud flaps without an issue, especially since the brackets mount to existing holes along the rocker panel pinch weld. That said, if you’ve got the full molded OEM flaps that wrap under the cab a bit and you were installing wheel to wheel running boards, you pay have to trim the mud flaps. But with these Romiks you won't need to!
