What Is The Best Way To Avoid Sway Before It Happens On My RV?

Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 06/30/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 16000 lb 32 foot coachman pursuit 2023. I tow a jeep gladiator with nighthawk tow bar. My RV has a large slide out and leans heavily to the left side. I am concerned that towing my vehicle might cause sway due to leaning to the drivers side. Is there any tow hitch extension that can adjust side to side tilt rather than height?

Hey Shawn,

There is not a hitch extension out there that adjusts for side to side tilt. You mainly see them for height adjustment or length extensions. What I recommend doing for your situation is an upgraded rear anti-sway bar for your motorhome. This is going to do a much better job at attack and reducing that sway you may experience. For your 2023 Coachman since it sits on a Ford F53 chassis I recommend the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-149.

Do you currently have any suspension upgrades on the Coachman?
