Low Profile Roof Rack Fitment for a 2016 Audi Allroad

Updated 06/05/2025 | Published 05/31/2025

Question:

Would this fit my Audi allroad? It seems adjustable but not confirmed to fit. I’d be willing to test fit this on my car and get back to you all whether or not it fits. There’s a huge community of allroad owners 2009-2016 the b8/B8.5 that would jump on buying this due to the Low profile nature. Please let me know Y00447-2

Hey Majid, thanks for reaching out!

Yakima currently doesn't have a fit with their RailBar system, but I do have an alternative option that fits your 2016 Audi Allroad via the Thule WingBar Edge system. This comes in Black # TH82VA as well as Silver # TH72VA and gives you a streamlined roof rack that hugs the roof a little more than the standard roof rack.

Thule and Yakima are competitors in this space and while I'm a little surprised that Yakima doesn't have a fit listed, they are very diligent about making sure their fit listings are up to date so I wouldn't take a chance on something that isn't listed.

What do you and other Allroad owners look to use a roof rack for?

Of the ones on the website that are confirmed fit for the all road, they just aren’t low profile enough compared to the rail bar system. It appears it used to be OEM, but when Whispbar or Yakima merged, that option went away. The majority of all road owners specifically, more recent are looking for style and aesthetic purposes. When I asked the question I had linked to a system that’s available on the website that is very similar to the Yakima rail bar system that was offered for the all roads. This is the only system and bar that provides a very low mounting point for a roof box, it is known that the sunroof will not be usable if using this system, but that is not a concern for the majority of the community I interact with. My question mainly pertain to whether that system could work on the car, considering it’s simply a length issue, and it appears that that system has some adjustability. It’s hard to necessarily know from the specifications because the measurements of us usable bar space and actual width needed to secure to the existing rails often do not match.

@Majid I wish I could give you the green light and a way to know that it will fit correctly, but I just don't have a way to do that. When it comes to roof racks, we stick with what the manufacturer says because roof racks are load bearing so we need to make sure it's been tested. The closest we'll come to "verifying" a fitment is fitting longer or shorter bars on a vehicle when the bars sit on top of the legs as opposed to ending in the legs like the RailBar Kit # Y00447-2 you asked about.
