Can The Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG462G2 Carry Four Kayaks?

Updated 10/06/2025 | Published 04/20/2025

Question:

I have been looking at the MicroSport Trailer for 4 Kayaks MPG462G2. I am trying to accommodate 2 Old Town Predator 13’ kayaks and two small LL Bean 9’ recreational kayaks. Will this trailer accommodate the width of the fishing kayaks and still save room for the two smaller kayaks? If so, What is the recommended positioning…two fishing on the outside or inside?

Hello Kevin, thanks for reaching out. The Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG462G2 can indeed be used to transport 4 kayaks like the Old Town Predator 13’ and LL Bean 9’. The J-style carriers allow the kayaks to be stored on their side, so the width of the kayak generally is not a factor. It can accommodate boats up to 20' long so the length will not be an issue either.

I would recommend doing the two larger kayaks on the middle carriers, then a small one on either end. It really would not matter too much how you load them, you would just want the weight to be as evenly distributed as possible.

I hope this helps. Leave a reply below with any other questions or comments and I am happy to assist.

Hey Kevin, did the loading arrangement for the kayaks work out for you on the MicroSport Trailer? I'm curious because it could help others who are trying to transport multiple kayaks.

@JesseM. Yes it did! Just took the family out yesterday actually and they fit perfectly.

@KevinB Awesome! So glad to hear that. Where did you end up going kayaking? I am here in Missouri and there are a ton of lakes scattered around here that are great for kayaking. We do a lot of River floating here in Missouri too.

@JesseM we live in MA so we go all over New England. Lake Morey in VT is one of my favorites for large mouth bass fishing. Close to home there are several large lakes and ponds. Knopps Pond in Groton MA was where we were last weekend.
