Will The Thule Epos 3 Be Compatible With Curt C13381 Hitch On 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan SE?

Question:

Hello! I am looking to use a Thule Epos 3 bike rack on a 2020 VW Tiguan SE. I am specifically wondering about bumper clearance and backstop. The Epos requires a 2” receiver depth and a bumper clearance of 6.3”. Can you clarify for me which hitch would work if any? I’m looking at the C13381, but would be interested in any you would recommend. Thank you!

Hello Kara, thanks for reaching out. The Thule Epos 3 Bike Rack # TH69XE will indeed work with the Curt # C13381 hitch on the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan.

I went out to our warehouse to measure the # C13381 hitch. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the receiver was 2-1/2", so this will be good to use with the Epos.

As far as bumper clearance, this hitch will have 5-1/2" of clearance when measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper. The Epos required this measurement to be 6.3" or less, so it will be compatible.
