Will Plastic Post on Dometic 1250 Replacement Lid Work the Same as Original Cover?
Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/16/2025 >
Question:
How does the plastic post on this part engage with the locking mechanism on the fan? In the pictures, it looks like a post with no washer or anything on the bottom for the locking hook mechanism to hold down. can you describe how this works?

Hey Scott, thanks for reaching out!
The Replacement Flat Lid # DMC66FR is designed to replace the vent cover on a Dometic Fan-Tastic Vent 1250. So, while I'm not entirely sure what plastic post you're talking about, this will interact with the rest of your vent components in the exact same manner as your original one.
Do you have a Dometic 1250, or a different vent model?
