Updated 10/28/2025 | Published 03/13/2025

Question:

I have a 2024 Outdoors RV, Travel Trailer model 280KVS. Total length is 34foot 11, including hitch and spare tire/ladder. I am looking for advice for storage from May 1 to Oct. 1. The trailer is on my lot and has partial shade from the awning structure on my lot. My RV lot is in Mesa Arizona. i am considering a cover or storing it in a covered storage in Arizona. Advice?

Hey Richard, thanks for reaching out!

Covered storage is always the best route to take so if that's possible for you then I definitely recommend going that route.

Covers like the Camco UltraGuard 5th Wheel Cover # CAM45756 are better than nothing, but there is only so much that fabric can do, especially when compared to an actual roof structure.

Is there anything else you were needing to factor in?

Hey Richard, how did things work out with storing your Outdoors RV trailer in Mesa? Did you end up going with covered storage or using the Camco UltraGuard cover? Your update could make it easier for others deciding how to protect their trailers in that kind of heat.

I used covered storage for a few hundred dollars a month last summer. The trailer seemed fine after six months in the Arizona heat. I am planning to try a cover and leave it in my property this summer. i have partial shade from an awning on my property. I also have better security here.

@RichardA Partial shade will definitely help out, and better security is always a good thing!
