Replacement for 1994 Dometic RM2611 Refrigerator/Freezer

What would be a direct replacement for a 1994 Dometic rm 2611?

Hey Diego! Looking at the old specs for the RM2611 the closest thing we have to a direct replacement is the Norcold RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer # NC63FR. Do you know your cutout dimensions? If you don't, you will need to check your current cutout to see if this will work for you.

The RM2611 required a 22-17/32" wide x 49-7/32" tall x 23-19/32" deep cutout. The Norcold cutout size is slightly larger at 23-1/2" wide x 52-7/8" tall x 24" deep. If your cutout is large enough, or you're able to slightly expand it, this will fit in the existing space and be a nice upgrade. It is also 100% 12V so you won't need the gas connection.

Hey Diego, did the Norcold refrigerator end up fitting your existing cutout space? Your update could make it easier for others replacing an older Dometic model.

@RobinH Hello, I am having problems with my 1993 Dometic RM 2611, refrigerator with freezer. I’m using propane. It was working OK sitting near it. I heard a kind of a thump noise turned around. Saw a little smoke start coming from the top above the “automatic - manual energy selector” panel. I immediately shut it off. Might you know what the obvious problem would be before I have to pull it out and most likely if I pull it out I’ll be thinking about replacement before I do all that. Could you let me know how your retrofit install worked? I appreciate it very much Thank You, Bart

@Bart with the thump followed by smoke coming from the controls, it sounds like an electrical/control component failed. I definitely wouldn't try running the refrigerator again, even on propane. With your RM2611 being over 30 years old and replacement parts being extremely limited, I would plan on replacing the refrigerator rather than trying to repair it.
