Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out. So the 2009 GMC 2500 will not have an OEM brake control port, but the wires will already be present under the dash. Look on the driver side right in front of the fuse panel and you should see the 4 brake control wires taped to the manufacturers wiring. Once you find those you can use the universal pigtail that comes with the Tekonsha P3 # 90195. No additional parts will be needed. The video I linked below shows install on a 2011 GMC. Hey Jim, how did things go once you found the brake control wires under the dash on your Sierra? Did the Tekonsha P3 connect smoothly using the universal pigtail? Your update could make it easier for others working on the same setup.
