Will the Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner EP59YR Clear the Check Engine Light?

Question:

1999 F250 V10. swapped motors, new motor has no EGR. Can the Edge programmer reset the computer so the check engine light goes out? Increased performance would be ok, but reprogramming codes is the main goal. Not in California, not in an emission controlled area.

Hey Charles! Good call on getting rid of the EGR!! The Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner item # EP59YR will definitely allow you to read and clear diagnostic codes. When you do the set up it'll allow you to reprogram your truck so you won't have to deal with the check engine lightly constantly popping up. It has been confirmed to work with the V10 engine in your 1999 Ford F-250.

I just talked to Edge and tehy said none of there products could change any emission programs, so will the CTS3 be able to reset my truck computer to a non-emission status? If so, will the tuner need to be left hooked up all the time? Just want to make sure before I send that kind of money. Thanks

@CharlesY If Edge told you that then go off of their guidance. It sounds like we've got some wrong information that needs to be updated. I don't have an alternative for you either. None of our Superchips tuners do anything with exhaust.
