Do Replacement LaSalle Bristol Waste Valves Come W/ a Threaded End for Attaching a Cable

Updated 12/16/2024 | Published 12/15/2024

Question:

My existing Bristol 3inch waste valve is cable operated. Do replacement Bristol valves come with the end of the valve shaft threaded to attach to the cable?

Bill, LaSalle Bristol doesn't make it so you can replace much on their cable actuated waste valves besides the handle, so you'd be better off just replacing the entire valve and cable system with the Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable for RV Black Water Tank # TC372.

Thanks. I've been able to disconnect the cable and associated top works from the valve. I just need the valve part. LaSalle Bristol sell just the valve with handle directly attached and I wanted to know if the handle just screws on to the valve shaft. I'd rather not go through the process of changing the cable as well.

@BillM Gotcha, yes the cable will just get set in the valve body by using a set screw and the handle at the end is threaded so it will thread on.

OK, so the valve shaft is threaded on the end?

@BillM Not threaded but rather just a straight piece of metal that funnels into it and gets locked down via a set screw. The other end where the handle is, is threaded. See picture 5 on the product page for # TC372.
