How Does the Locking Mechanism of the Master Lock Python Cable Lock # 8419DPF Work

hello- Id like to understand if the lock 8419DPF requires the key to lock the unit or unlock. Im looking for an adjustable cable lock that locks in cable place in one direction but requires a key to unlock the cable. thanks,

I went and pulled a Master Lock Python Cable Lock # 8419DPF from our warehouse to test the lock mechanism of it and found that if left in the lock position you can keep sliding the cable through the lock, but to slide the cable back out the key has to be in the unlock position. Basically, its exactly what you said you are looking for.
