Question:

Hi, I have a 2018 Ram 1500 Crew Cab and I am looking to get new floor mats as mine are getting pretty worn out. I ran across yours and was wondering how they compare to the WeatherTech mats? Thanks

Hi Fronk, good question!

There are a couple differences between the WeatherTech and etrailer floor mats, but I can say one of the most important ones is the material used.

The etrailer mats ( # e58PR for your 2018 Ram 1500 Crew Cab) are made of an injection molded, rubberized TPE (Thermoplastic elastomer) material, making them somewhat pliable and they easily fit where they are supposed to.

The WeatherTech mats ( # WT444781 for the front AND # WT442163 for the rear) are made of a much stiffer HDTE (High Density Tri-Extruded) material, making them pretty stiff. I actually have a set of WeatherTech front mats in my Silverado and I will admit to never liking how stiff they are. It causes them to slide around a bit no matter how they are positioned.

The other big one is the price. The etrailer # e58PR comes as a front and rear set but you would need to order the front AND rear WeatherTech mats separately, at almost twice the price.

If the etrailer mats where available when I got my Silverado, I would have grabbed them over the WeatherTech ones. Cost would have played into it, as it always does, but I definitely prefer the pliability of our mats over theirs.

Hey Fronk, how did the etrailer floor mats work out in your Ram 1500? Did the softer material make a difference compared to the WeatherTech mats? Your feedback could help others choosing between the two.
