Why Does 3-1/8" Rise Euro Ball Mount Have 5-1/8" Rise on Sticker

Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/09/2024

Question:

Product description for Curt 45561 indicates the euro mount has a 3-1/8” rise however in the photos the label shows this mount to be 5-1/8” rise. I’m guessing this is a typo on the website?

Hey Eric, thanks for reaching out about that!

The Curt Class II Euro Style Drawbar # C45561 and other styles like it aren't as straightforward as standard ball mounts which is why our specs look a little different. Curt calls it a 5-1/8" rise but that's not entirely accurate because we took the following measurements:

- 3-1/8" from top of inside of hitch opening to start of vertical curve
- 6-9/16" from top of inside of hitch opening to top of ball

Technically I guess you could say this has a 4-11/16" rise, but we just call it 3-1/8" since that's kind of where a standard hitch ball shank would be sitting. So at the very least you're going to get a 3-1/8" rise out of this ball mount.

Hey Eric, did those measurements for the Curt Euro Style Drawbar clear up the confusion about the listed rise? Knowing how it compared to what you expected could help others double-check their setups too.
