I spoke with my contact at CURT about the installation and drilling of the Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # C16306-204. They told me that this can be a little confusing but you should only drill through one side of the truck frame when installing this kit. They said the first drawing that says drill both sides is referring to both sides of the truck(driver side and passenger side). The drawing is a bit confusing but in the later instructions the statement that you should NOT drill through both sides of the frame are what should be followed. I hope this clears it up for you. Good luck with the installation.
