Updated 01/13/2026 | Published 09/07/2024

Question:

I have a Prime Time Crusader 29 will the TA75FR wheels work with this unit? My hub have 6 on 5-1/2 and 1/2 x 20 studs. Im not sure what my back spacing is. You state these wheels have 3-1/2. I want to up grade to 16 wheel and tire. My unit as of now weights 14440 lb.

Hi Andy; the Aluminum Viking Series Valhalla Trailer Wheel # TA75FR will fit your Prime Time Crusader 29. The bolt pattern matches what you have now, and you have the right wheel bolts which is what matters the most for a wheel. I wouldn't worry about the backspacing too much. However, you do need to be aware of clearance issues with whatever tires you add.

I wasn't able to find any information on your current wheel and tire size but moving up a size or two generally means a loss of clearance. You will want to measure your current tires and compare it to the tires you're getting. A minimum of 3" on top and 2" on the inside of the tire is required for proper clearance to allow for suspension travel.

For example, a tire like the Provider ST235/80R16 # TTWTRTM2358016E has an outer diameter of 30.79" and section width of 9.25". An ST205/75R15 tire like the # AM10245 has an outer diameter of 27.3" and an 8.1" section width. Moving to the larger tire will result in a loss of 0.575" on the inside and 1.745" on top of the tire. As long as you still have enough clearance you can move to the larger size.

Hey Andy, how did things turn out with the Valhalla wheels on your Crusader 29? Were you able to get the clearance you needed after comparing your current tires to the larger 16-inch ones? Your update could make it easier for others thinking about the same upgrade.

@RobinH I never bought them. Yes they would have fit. Thank you for your help. Were not going camping much anymore so I just stayed with the 15" rims.
