Parts Needed For Flat Towing 1996 Ford Bronco

Updated 08/28/2024 | Published 08/24/2024

Question:

I have a 1996 ford bronco that Id like to tow behind my 2022 American tradition 37S. I need everything related to the Bronco. Can you set me up part numbers for the integrated braking, lights and charging. Then the towbar system and mounts on the Bronco? Need it turn key. Does eTrailer have installers around 94501 zip code? I can do it, but this time I think I would want a professional to save time.

Hello Mike. We can definitely set you up with everything you need to flat tow your 1996 Ford Bronco behind your motorhome. Here is what I recommend:

- Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 442-1

- etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plates - RV Mount - 10,500 lbs # e64ZR

- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

That will cover all of the main components. I do recommend that you get a cover for the tow bar, part # DM9523042. Also, you may need a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your motorhome. Any difference of more than 3" will require a drop hitch. As with any flat tow setup, please make sure you check your owners manual and read over all information pertaining to flat towing.

As far as installers near you, I recommend checking with Almaden RV Service & Repair in San Jose. This is really our only RV installer anywhere near you. You could always call around to other RV/auto shops in your area. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
