Hey Stevie! The MOS UpLift Roof Rack Lift Assist w/ Bike Rack for 1 Bike item # MR36ZV will lower your bike 2' below the top of your crossbars. So quite a ways. It also extends out from the side of your vehicle so you won't have to worry about scratching your car with the bike or your clothes when getting it down.

The bike rack on the MOS UpLift Roof Rack item # MR36ZV has a 44 lbs capacity, it fits tires up to 3" wide, wheels that are 20" - 29", and wheel bases up to 47-1/4". This is a frame mounted bike rack that grips your bike's downtube with padded clamps. You won't have to worry about damaging any fenders you may have.
