Troubleshooting A Furrion RV Refrigerator That's Only Cooling The Freezer

Question:
Hi I have a furrion fridge model number FCR20DCAFA. I have a 2024 keystone montana fifth wheel. Our fridge stopped working in may and we brought it into the dealer ship, they replaced the fridge. Now I’m mid July our brand new fridge stopped working, the freezer works but the lights don’t come on and the fridge doesn’t cool. If we pull the fuse and let it sit for an hour the lights will be on and the fridge will try and cool. By morning the lights will be back off and the fridge will be warm. We live in our camper full time and really do not want to have to wait for another month and multiple days off work to have another new fridge installed. Thank you

Hi Gage,
If two fridges are having the same exact issue it's either a manufacturer defect or an issue with the environment it was installed in. I would start by checking that there's enough clearance around and behind the fridge for it to properly vent. The FCR20DCAFA requires 3" in back and 2" on each side.
From there I would check that the outlet it's plugged into is supplying a sufficient amount of voltage (115v). I'd make sure this fridge is on a 20 amp circuit all by itself so that there's no possibility of anything else powering on and dropping the available amperage under what the fridge requires to properly operate.
If you're meeting all of the fridge's requirements and it still doesn't function properly then it's likely a control board issue, which would require reaching out to Furrion and going through their warranty process.
