How to Determine Reese Goose Box For Keystone Sprinter Campfire 5th Wheel Trailer

Updated 08/01/2024 | Published 07/28/2024

Question:

I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the 6.6L LMM Duramax towing a 2019 Sprinter Campfire fifth wheel. Currently it has a Lippert pin box and I have an Anderson Ultimate Connection SKU 3017. I was wondering if I could replace the king pin box and the Anderson adapter with a gooseneck pin box that has air ride? If so which 1 would work?

Hi Marcus,

Yes, you can replace the standard pin box on your Keystone Sprinter Campfire 5th Wheel trailer with a Reese Goose Box with Air Ride. That said, we don't have any way of knowing which pin box model is on your trailer, so to find out the right replacement you'll have to take a couple measurements.

I have added a link below to a help article called "4 Steps to Choosing Your 5th Wheel Pin Box" and if you scroll down a bit in the article, it walks you through the measurements that are needed. From there you can choose the right one based on what pin box you have:

- Lippert 1621, 1621HD & 0719 Pin Box: Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP94716

- Lippert 1716, 1116, & 0115 Pin Box: Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP94716-61301

So I have the Lippert 1116 on my Sprinter. So what you are saying is that I can use the Reese Goosebox with my Anderson connector?

@Marcus Apologies as I must have misunderstood, but no, the Goose Box cannot be used with an Andersen. The Goose Box would attach directly to your truck's gooseneck ball.
