Is Skid Plate Removal Required for Curt Hitch Installation on 2017 Ford F-150 With FX4 Package

Question:
Regarding Curt 31083 front hitch. I have a 2017 F150 FX4 package. I assume now, although not mentioned on the product page, that it is necessary to remove the skid plate. Please verify if my assumption is correct.

Hi Alan; installation of the # C31083 typically involves removing the skid plate. However, the skid plate can be reinstalled if you trim it to fit. We don't have instructions for this modifications so it will be up to you to make it work if you want to keep the skid plate on your F-150.
