Is The Factory Roof Rack On a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Capable of Supporting a Rooftop Tent?

Question:

Hi there I am interested in purchasing a rooftop tent for my car I have a 2021 Ford Bronco sport that holds 150 on the standard roof rack thats on there I was wondering if I install this on my car would I then be able to support the weight of a rooftop tent and two people ao lets say 500lbs give or take. Would I then be able to support the required weight without chance damaging my roof? Thank you!

Adding a Yakima LockNLoad Platform Rack for Crossbars # Y05045-39 to the factory crossbars on your 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is not going to increase the 150lb weight capacity. It will actually lower the amount of weight you can put on the roof by the weight of the rack(57lbs).

Because of the very low weight rating for your roof I would recommend a Tent Trailer # Y08129-3727 since most these tents are going to weigh 100lbs or more. This will put the weight on a trailer and won't degrade the ride quality of your Bronco Sport like having all the weight on your roof.
