Will Draw-Tite Receiver Tube Stick Out From Bumper on 2023 Jeep Gladiator

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 06/27/2024

Question:

When correctly mounted on a 2023 Gladiator Willys Sport, will the Draw-Tite receiver 76310/DR64FR stick out past the rear bumper? It looks like it sticks out a couple inches past the bumper in some of the photos, but it is tough to know from a photo. I do not want to add a shin-buster to my truck.

Hi Tim; the Draw-Tite # DR64FR will stick out several inches from the bumper potentially making it a "shin-buster." If you need that 1,125 lb max tongue weight and 7,500 lb max gross trailer weight and plan to use weight distribution this is really the only option.

If you don't need that much capacity then the # e67AR is the better choice. This sits almost flush with the rear bumper so running into the receiver won't be a problem like it would be with the Draw-Tite. This hitch has a 500/5,000 lb max tongue/gross trailer weight.

Hey Tim, how did the hitch choice work out on your Gladiator? Did the flush-fit option give you the clearance you wanted behind the bumper? Your update could make it easier for others deciding between those two hitches.
