Which Utility Trailer Wheels Can Be Used At Highway Speeds Of 70-75MPH
Updated 06/07/2024 | Published 06/01/2024 >
Question:
I am looking for a small utility trailer that will manage highway speeds of 70-75mph. 4x6, 4x8 or 5x8 with 12 or 15 tires. Would be willing to put better tires on something if need be. What do you recommend?

Hey Nate,
We unfortunately don't offer utility trailers but we can definitely help you out with new wheels and tires with a higher rating to handle highway speeds. You'll want a trailer tire with an 'M' speed rating or better, which means you'll need at least a 12" wheel. This can come with a 4 on 4 or 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. I would check with your local trailer wholesalers for the trailer and stay away from the cheap trailers sold by big chain hardware stores. If you can't find one with the correct speed rating then we can swap out the wheels and make sure they'll clear the fenders.
