Hi Laura; thanks for the question and per the owner's manual your 2011 Ford Escape can be flat towed - including one with an automatic transmission. There are a number of parts needed in order to flat tow the '11 Escape, which I'll list for you:

Blue Ox has a deserved reputation for quality and will help your Escape keep a nice, clean look when you aren't towing it due to the base plate's removable arms. The tow bar has a 6,000 lb capacity, which is well over what your Escape weighs, and even comes with safety cables so you don't have to purchase those separately.
