How do I tell if 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum needs wiring for a tow equipped model or a non-tow equipped model? I prefer plug and play vs splice and dice method.

Hello Tim, the best way to determine whether or not your 2020 Toyota Highlander is factory tow package equipped is to contact a dealership and have them run your VIN. They will be able to tell you exactly what your vehicle was equipped with from the factory.

Either way, installing wiring on a 2020 Highlander will be pretty much plug-and-play. For a 4-flat trailer connector, I recommend the following:

With Factory Tow Package - # TK74FR

Without Factory Tow Package # TK99FR
