Help Identifying Roof Rack On A 2016 Jeep Cherokee
Published 01/29/2024 >
Question:
Hello Jesse. I am sorry but there are no manufacture markings on these ladder racks other than 136 below the lock where the key would go. Here are some pics, please let me know what you think. 2016 Jeep Cherokee Thanks

Hey Bill Thanks for the pictures.
The first thing I will say is that it appears that the lock has the number 196, and not 136. I think part of the 9 is worn off but I am pretty certain it is 196.
That said, this roof rack does not resemble anything that we carry here. I showed this to a few of my associates and we agreed that it is likely a different brand or an "amazon brand". After a quick look on amazon, it looks very similar to their "amazon basics" brand rack. I am not really sure if keys are available for these. I was not able to find anything in my search at least. So unless you can get thru to Amazon (or Jeff) you may be out of luck unfortunately.
At that point the only way to remove it would be to take a drill to the lock cores and drill them out until the locks release, and then use an Allen wrench to release the clamps. but this would pretty much destroy the rack. If it is any consolation, the amazon basics racks are not particularly expensive.
