Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For A 1992 Ford E-350 Shuttle Bus

Question:

I have a 92 e350 shuttle bus. The frame at the rear is 43.5 outside to outside,37 7/8 inside to inside and the frame is 6.5 inch rail. I need a hitch to pull a trailer with music equipment. Please give me some options. Thank You

Hi Tad,

Based on the dimensions you provided I recommend going with the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 18" to 51" Wide # C13702. This would mount under the frame with the receiver tube sitting roughly 2" below the frame. If you need an additional 2" (4" total) to clear any rear bumper/fascia then you can go with the # C13701 instead. These hitches fit frame widths from 18" - 51" and any excess can be cut off of the crosstube with a chop saw to fit.

There are a few other options with larger drops if needed but you'll either have to weld the hitch in place or will lower the capacity down 3,500lbs. If these two don't work let me know and we can discuss other options so you can get the right fit and be able to tow that equipment trailer.
