Question:

I have 2013 Toyota highlander hybrid with 19 inch spare please advise best hitch that could also preserve part of trim... will be used for bike rack small trailer and hitch scan which requires min 13 inch height to prevent ground clutter.

Of the hitches available for your Highlander (see link), the Draw-Tite # 75726 will accommodate a full sized spare, is compatible with the Hybrid model, and would allow for the best ground clearance. Therefore, the Curt Class III hitch is what I would recommend for you.

All the available hitches would require that the tow hooks be permanently removed, and would require the removal or trimming of the underbody appearance panel. The panel being trimmed or removed will not be noticeable, as the panel is completely under the vehicle.

In order to tow with your hitch, you will need some other accessories:

Ball Mount Kit, part # 989900
Locking Hitch Pin, part # e98882
Trailer Wiring Harness, part # C56217 (or # 56042 if vehicle has the tow package)
