Installation Options For The Better Bath RV Bathtub # LC209683

Updated 12/07/2023 | Published 12/06/2023

Question:

I need this bathtub to replace a shower in a small bathroom thats 26W x 48L in our log cabin, not an RV. Will this work for me and exactly how is it installed? Is it a -in or an alcove? I cant really tell looking at the photos. Please also suggest ways to bulk up the installation to make the tub feel sturdy. Thanks, need this asap in Wyoming.

The Better Bath RV Bathtub # LC209683 comes with a foam base to help support and would just require some wood framing to support the sides just like a residential drop-in tub would have. You'll drop the tub in and then can either shoot some nails or screws in through the flange on the sides and back and then lay your tile or linoleum over the walls and flange or you can butt it up against the wall and caulk the flange to the wall.

Some people will also wrap the area in plastic and then wrap the bottom of the tub in plastic and then fill the space between the tub and framing in with some spray foam insulation. This would expand to fill the gap and provide more support for the tub.
