Question:
For item KH16500, it says do not start your vehicle with it plugged in. I have this combined with the oil pan heater, transmission pan heater, battery heater and charger, and we use remote start. Why should the vehicle not be started with the KH16500 plugged in? Is there risk to the engine or car damage? Thank you so much

Expert Reply:
Starting the vehicle while the Kat's Heaters Lower Radiator Hose Heater w/ 270 F Thermostat # KH16500 could cause an overheating issue so the recommend unplugging it first before starting the vehicle. If you get an outlet timer and set it turn off just before the time when you usually use your remote start to warm up the vehicle you shouldn't have an issue. Timers can be purchased at a local hardware store for super cheap.
