Question:
I bought a replacement hardware kit for my tailgate assist system BKT43301 and it doesnt have any instructions with it, all I needed were the tow clips that hold the ram onto the studs. How do I get the old mounting stud out of the tailgate and do the new studs not need a clip to hold the ram on ?

If you are having difficulty removing nutsert in order to install the Replacement Installation Hardware for DeeZee Tailgate Assist # BKT43301, I recommend gently prying it out some. This may be necessary if the nutsert is stripped out. Once pried out a bit, you can use some vise grips around it in order to pull it out completely.
If you have panels on the inside of your tailgate that can be removed, you can also try to access the inner area of the tailgate to try and force the nutsert out from the inside.
If you are not able to remove the nutsert with the above methods, it may simply need to be drilled out.
