Does Draw-Tite Front Hitch 65049 Have Class Designation
Published 10/02/2023 >
Question:
I purchased and have just installed this front receiver. I do have one question, I could not find anywhere what the Class of the hitch is? I plan to use it for a front mounted winch and know it says 9,000 pound pull capacity. But that is not a Class, there are others in the comments that are using it as plow connection. I want to do the same but need to know if the 2” receiver is a Class III or IV?

While I understand this may be important because you said you need to know, the fact is, front mounted hitches do not have class designations, including the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65049.
Class designations are honestly meaningless, and not something anyone should pay any attention to for any reason. For the # 65049 just think of the 9,000 lb line pull the exact same as a 9,000 lb towing capacity. It also has a 500 lb tongue weight capacity. I suppose if someone is asking, just tell them it is a Class IV as it falls within those ratings.
