Troubleshooting Fogatti Tankless Water Heater With E3 Error Code After Replacing Water Flow Sensor

Question:

I have a Fogatti Tankless Water Heater, model #FS06B1. It was bought June 2022, worked great. Last winter the Water Flow Sensor cracked and started leaking. We got a new one and replaced it. Now my control panel throws and E3 code which is for the thermostat. If you turn the panel on and off several times the code disappears, but the heater will not fire. Gas pressure has been checked and is fine. Water pressure is still the same as before leak. What else is stopping the heater from lighting?

The E3 is a fail code for the thermostat on your Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR. More specifically it says the temperature control is detecting a fail. You will want to check the temperature controller connection along with the probes. You may need to flush the tankless water heater for a bit to ensure any air inside the system or particles are removed which could give the sensors a false reading.

For further assistance you will want to contact Fogatti directly as they will be able to give you more in depth ways you can test your different sensors to determine what is at fault.

@RobertB Most the of sensors and their wiring can be accessed with the water heater still inside the RV from the outside door. You will want to confirm the location of your sensors in your owners manual as they are not always the same between all the models. Typically on issues for the temperature controller you are going to follow the cold water coming into the unit and find the probe that measures its temperature. Before the heated water leaves the unit there is going to be another probe to check the temperature of the heated water.
