Why Would Trailer Wiring Have Brake Lights Active All the Time
Published 08/09/2023 >
Question:
I have a Trailer wiring system on my Suv and it works pretty good for awhile. However, recently, I noticed the break light connection is always on even when the car is not running. Please advice.

This is typically a sign that the converter box of your trailer wiring kit is shorted out and in need of replacing. The converter boxes are designed to "fall on the sword" of a trailer short and act as a one time fuse that prevents the short from potentially affecting the vehicle wiring.
