Question:

Is the Everchill model # WD-282FWDC-6 MFR No:BCD280WEV804H-6 designed to CONTINUE TO RUN when plugged into the tow vehicle? After a 4-5 hour drive the freezer items remain frozen but the refrigerator warms to about 60 degrees and requires about 3-4 hours on shore power to cool down. What am i missing? Thanks

The Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer # 324-000119 can be made to pull power to run during travel but you need it to be drawing power off of your battery bank - not from the 12V power coming from your tow vehicle. Check to see where the fridge power is connected to because it may not be getting enough power to actually run the fridge/freezer.

The 12V power from your tow vehicle is really just a trickle charge to keep your battery bank topped off. If you're needing to pull power from your battery bank during travel then you'll want something designed to get more power from the tow vehicle back to your trailer battery bank, and for that I recommend checking out the BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D and Installation Kit # e79ZR. The BCDC charger will read what type of battery bank you have and then adjust the output of the charger to ensure your battery bank is charged properly. There are also provisions to tie in a solar panel kit if that's something you're interested in the future.
