Will Replacement QuickAccess Interface Rubber Strips Stick to Roof Box In Summer Heat

Question:

I am looking to replace the rubber strip on my rail bar. My current ones get stuck to my cargo box in this southern heat. Will these replacement strips get stuck to my cargo box as well in the heat?

When you replace your current rubber strips with the # 1500052989 on your WingBar crossbars they won't stick to your roof box. Over time rubber tends to break down and become sticky, and excessive heat will accelerate that process. Will these eventually end up in the same state yours are in now? Probably, since that is the nature of vulcanized rubber products.

If you want to get a little more life out of your current strips, you can use isopropyl alcohol to remove the layers that are breaking down and reach the vulcanized rubber below which won't be sticky for a time. However, one way or another they will eventually have to be replaced.
