How Long Does The Kat's Lower Radiator Hose Heater # KH16500 Take To Reach Running Temperature?
Updated 06/15/2023 | Published 06/14/2023 >
Question:
I drive a 1998 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2RZ-FE manual transmission. Let’s say for example the ambient temperature is 0 degrees farenheit and your vehicle has been sitting overnight in these temperatures. Let’s also say that your antifreeze temperature is approximately 0 degrees as well. How long would it take for this heater to bring the antifreeze temperature up to 220 degrees, or thereabouts? I know that this heater will keep the antifreeze at 220 - 250 degrees farenheit. Thank you for an answer, it is greatly appreciated!

While Kat's does not give a specific amount of time the Lower Radiator Hose Heater # KH16500 will take to warm up a vehicle, I have found several reviews which state it only take between 30 minutes and 1 hour for the vehicle to get up to temperature. Kat's recommends leaving the unit plug in at all times in freezing temperatures to help prevent condensation freezing issues due to the engine cooling below freezing point.
