What Step of Dodge ProMaster Van Adapter Uses Sandpaper and Adhesive

Question:
The instructions and another commenter mention sandpaper, adhesive and primer is required purchased separately for the installation of the awning. The instructions dont provide any description of what to do with these items. Im struggling to find anything online about it either. Do you have any additional information on how to apply these to the installation?

On step 3 section A you can see where the sandpaper adhesive and primer is used. Basically it's along the edge of the bracket where the exclamation point logo is.
