can i install a draw tite 5504 activator on my 2012 chevy silverado. which wires do i use i need complete instructions if you have them

The tow package wires under the dash of your 2012 Chevy Silverado have the following functions:

Tow package red = brake controller black for 12 volt power
Tow package dark blue = brake controller blue for output to trailer brakes
Tow package light blue = brake controller red for input from brake switch
Tow package white = controller white for ground

There may also be some connections that you will need to make under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to our help article that explains the connections that need to be made. I have also linked a video showing an installation of a different controller on a 2012 Silverado. The process will be the same using any brake controller.
