Question:

I’m trying to find a way to fit the Thule Hull-a-part kayak carrier TH849000 I own to a set of OEM 2020 OEM Subaru Impreza wagon aero cross bars. The problem is that carriers are designed to fit a Thule crossbar with a t-track. Which I have for my other vehicle. It doesn’t appear the square bar adapter will work, as the Subaru bar is aero shaped, not square. Is there an alternative adapter? Buying a new carrier that would fit the Subaru isn’t really an option, since I already have all the pieces, just trying to figure out a way to mount it to the Subaru bars.

The Thule Hull-A-Port Aero Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # TH849000 is a model specifically designed to mount into T-Slot channels on crossbars so since your OEM 2020 Subaru Impreza crossbars don't have this your only option is to install aftermarket crossbars that do have the T-Slots, and for that I recommend the Malone roof rack:

This is a cost-effective solution to your problem which is why I recommend it. This system is a bit more clunky than you'll find with an OEM or most aftermarket options but it will get the job done which is what counts.
