Does the Landing Gear Leg have to be Removed from Trailer to Install the Landing Gear Repair Kit
Updated 02/13/2014 | Published 02/12/2014 >
Question:
Will I need to remove the entire landing leg in order to replace the gears, shaft and bushings? The rv is a 2005 Keystone Challenger fifth wheel with the Lippert landing gear. It started jumping gear cogs, we are in an rv park near San Antonio, TX.

All of the feedback we have received on the Lead Jack Repair Kit part # LG-146059 has said that with the jack removed from the trailer the repair kit installs very easily. I spoke to my contact at Stromberg Carlson and she said there is no reason you would have to remove the leg to install this kit, but it might be easier if you did so.
All that has to be removed to install this is the top black piece of the landing gear to access the parts to install this kit.
